Theme : Tropical Splendour
Set in the tropic athmosphere, FLORIA 2010 brings the exciting presentation of tropical colours. Bold red, orange and yellow are among the colours produced by Heliconius which has been chosen as the theme flower this year.
The show will be showcase an assortment of Heliconias and related species from the plant order of Zingiberales. This year the show will feature plants from the family of Musacea (Bananas), Strelitziacea ( Bird of Paradise), Lowiacea, Zingiberacea (Gingers), Costacea (Costus), Cannacea (Cannas) and Marantacea (Prayer Plants).
Visitors to FLORIA 2010 will be mesmerized with the splendidi colours of the flowers in ful bloom. Also featured is a large flower bed and a temperature controlled indoor Floral Pavilion. the show promises to be the biggest ever showcase of Heliconias and Zingiberales in Malaysia.

Heliconia (Bunga Sepit Udang/Ketam)
Heliconia is a genus of about 100 to 200 species of flowering plants native to the tropical Americas and the Pacific Ocean islands west to Indonesia, with more than 150 species foun in South East Asian region. Common names for the genus include lobster-claws, wild plantains or false bird-of-paradise flowers (Strelitzia). Collectively, these plants are also simply referred to as heliconias.
The leaves of these plants are 15-300 cm long, oblong, growing opposite one another on non-woody petioles often longer than the leaf, often forming large clumps with age. Their flowers are produes on long, erect or drooping panicles, and consist of birhtly colored waxy bracts, with small true flowers peeping out from the bracts. The growth habit of heliconias is similar to Canna, Strelitzia, and Bananas, to which they are related.

okay...korang..apa tunggu lagi, setat besok (10/7) hinggalah ke Ahad (18/7) meh serbu Putrajaya secara umumnya dan secara khususnya serbulah ke tapak Floria (depan MOF). marilah datang beramai-ramai. angkut jer sape yang ada kat umah tuh. rugi ooo kalo xdatang. boleh snap2 gambo bunga2 yang dalam pelbagai bentuk dan penuh dengan warna-warni. wah...wah... kalo xcaya, korang pegilah sendiri. tapi kalo stil xcaya jugak, hah... tunggu jerlah aku tepek gambo nanti. ngeh..ngeh..ngeh..
